On April 5, 2024, I ignored instructions to have a blood test and instead walked to the back of the hospital to the ER. Divine intervention put me with Dr. Moshen Akhlaghi, MD. Prior to that day I had been seeing my primary care doctor for the symptoms I was experiencing. He had blood test done and diagnosed that I suddenly was anemic and that I should have a colonoscopy, which I was already scheduled to have in a matter of weeks. Union County EMS quickly diagnosed me in the field, started treatment and transported me via helicopter directly to the Cardiac Cath Lab in Gainesville. As stated, they bypassed both local and Northeast Georgia ER and saved precious time. My proximal LAD blockage would have been fatal or very detrimental to my quality of life had I ignored the symptoms or endured a 2 hour workup in the average emergency department.
